Mak Polyplast SAM-AL

Self adhesive SBS membrane with aluminium top. Mak POLYPLAST SAM-AL Self-Adhesive membranes are produced with special multilayer design with a glass fiber or polyester reinforcement which is impregnated and coated on both sides with a uniquely formulated elastomeric bitumen compound, which provides high adhesive properties. Mak POLYPLAST SAM-AL is an excellent general purpose water proofing membrane with a dimensionally stable, inert, rotproof 45-50 gsm glass fiber mat or 150 gsm non woven polyester mat reinforcement. This provides additional puncture resistance, tensile strength and tear resistance. The Membranes are covered on their top surface with a 50micron Aluminium foil and on the underside with a siliconised release paper. This combination provides instant adhesion with high tear and puncture resistance and improved tensile strength. A top surfacing of Aluminium provides UV reflection thus protecting the membrane and providing heat insulation. Mak POLYPLAST SAM-AL is the ideal membrane for damp-proofing foundations, bridges, viaducts and tunnels, coaches etc. It is recommended for use as a protective shield against water and ice. Strips of various widths are used extensively for instant adhesion/ bonding. PACKAGING: 1m x 15m rolls of 1mm, 1.5mm & 2mm thickness.

Application

The surface to receive Mak POLYPLAST SAM-AL should be smooth and dry and should be free from dust and dirt. The surface should be primed thoroughly with a concrete Mak Primer. It is installed by progressively peeling off the release paper and unrolling the membrane along with it. The membrane, particularly at the overlaps, should be firmly pressed down to ensure a good seal by using a small roller.
