Durable Road Crossing Restoration with Mak Premix

Overview:

The Northern Railway, Sultanpur section faced severe deterioration at one of its railway crossings due to continuous vehicular movement. The crossing had become hazardous, with deep potholes, loose aggregates, and surface undulations creating a serious safety risk for both road users and railway operations. Makphalt’s Mak Premix, a ready-to-use instant road repair compound, was deployed to execute a fast, durable, and economical restoration with minimal traffic disruption.

The Problem:

The existing railway crossing was heavily damaged due to:
• Constant vehicular load and wear-and-tear from bypass traffic.
• Crushed aggregates and uneven surface, posing a safety hazard.
• Frequent road failures, causing operational difficulties for the railway and risk of accidents.
Additionally, during execution, traffic movement immediately after completion led to early surface disturbance, requiring immediate on-site management.

The Solution:

Makphalt’s Mak Premix was chosen for its superior bonding strength, flexibility, and long-term durability — ideal for quick and permanent patch repairs.

Application was carried out by Madhuri Construction, under the supervision of
railway authorities.

The ready-to-use cold mix compound was applied directly to potholes and
compacted without heating, ensuring rapid repair and traffic reopening.

To manage premature traffic movement, an artificial diversion path for two-
wheelers was created and traffic police managed heavy vehicles until the
repaired surface stabilized.

The Impact:
